Built on Trust. Driven by Transparency.
Diaspora Parcel Logistics was founded to solve a real problem: the lack of structure, accountability, and transparency in cross-border purchases and shipping between the United States and Nigeria. We exist to make international shopping and logistics clear, secure, and reliable for individuals and businesses.
Our Story
Diaspora Parcel Logistics was founded by Edward Ogbunude, a Nigerian-born finance professional with extensive academic and corporate experience in both Nigeria and the United States.
Edward spent his formative years in South-Eastern Nigeria, receiving his early education in Onitsha before attending Federal Government College, Okigwe. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of Calabar in 2002 and completed Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps program in the Federal Capital Territory.
He began his professional career at Zenith Bank Plc, one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s leading financial institutions, where he served for over a decade. After voluntarily resigning in 2017, he relocated to the United States to further his education.
Edward earned his MBA from the Olin Business School in 2019, with concentrations in business, finance, and accounting. Following his MBA, he worked in finance roles at multinational companies including General Mills and Nestlé.
In addition to his formal degrees, he completed executive business programs at Tekedia Institute and the National Open University of Nigeria.
From Idea to Impact: Where It All Started
Throughout his personal and professional journey, Edward observed a recurring issue within the African diaspora community.
Many people relied on friends, relatives, or acquaintances abroad to handle purchases or shipments. While the intention was good, there was often no formal structure, no documentation, and no clear process. Due diligence was rarely conducted. Contracts were viewed as unnecessary or even inappropriate.
This culture of informal trust created vulnerability.
Too many individuals lost money. Orders were mishandled. Specifications were ignored. Communication broke down. In many cases, honest and hardworking people suffered avoidable financial losses.
Diaspora Parcel Logistics was created to bridge that trust gap.
Instead of relying on personal relationships, we built a system grounded in:
- Clear processes
- Defined responsibilities
- Transparent pricing
- Structured communication
- End-to-end accountability
Trust should not be blind. It should be built on clarity.
Our Mission
To provide Nigerians and Africans in the United States with a reliable, transparent, and professionally managed shipping and logistics service that connects them confidently to home.
We aim to remove uncertainty from international purchases and freight services by making every step visible and structured.
Our Vision
Our vision is to scale Diaspora Parcel Logistics into a trusted logistics partner across the United States.
We aim to become the preferred shipping solution for Nigerians in the U.S. who want to send parcels, packages, and bulk loads home using air or ocean freight.
Looking ahead, we plan to establish regional hubs across Africa to simplify cross-border logistics for Africans living in the United States. Our long-term goal is to strengthen economic and personal connections between the diaspora and the continent through reliable logistics infrastructure.
